Tables - Dining Tables
We Specialise in both solid reproduction dining tables and veneered ones and can make a table for you to seat as many or as few people as you require. Typical styles include pedestal D end or Bow end tables, Victorian tables, circular breakfast or dining tables and flip-top tables (where the leaf retracts into the mechanism of the table). We also make Irish wakes tables, marquetry tables and gate leg tables.
18th Century Pedestal Dining Tables Originally made circa 1750, the elegance of its design has ensured continued production to the present day. Antique pedestal tables were virtually always made in the solid, usually in mahogany, and the tops were therefore without cross-banding. Cross-banded tops are indicative of reproductions, or decoration that was added at a later date.
19th Century Dining Tables Designed in the Regency period but extensively copied in the Victorian period. The Victorians favoured substantial furniture and their tables needed to be strongly built. The colour of Victorian mahogany was usually a rich red brown.
We have over fifty different styles of reproduction antique dining table on display at our showrooms in Burgess Hill. To accompany the dining tables, you may also be interested in viewing our range of dining chairs and sideboards.
